WHAT IS A VIRTUAL
CONSULTATION
A Virtual Consultation is an online video call
between you and your consultant podiatrist. This
allow you to see them from anywhere using your
mobile phone or computer. The call is FREE,
PRIVATE and SECURE. When you have a confirmed
date and time scheduled for your call your
Podiatrist will email or text you with a link. Simply
click on this text in the message and you will
instantly be taken to your Podiatrists online waiting
room. No software to download or lengthy accounts
to setup just a straightforward simple, click. Your
Podiatrist will see that you’re connected and start
the call.

4: A pair of shorts or tracksuit bottoms
5: Two pairs of old shoes
6: Any previous or current insoles/orthoses
WHAT TO EXPECT
An initial appointment includes the following:

Taking a medical history of current complaint

Examination: standing, lying,
walking/running, functional tests

Diagnosis
•
Treatment plan
Treatment: may include

chiropody
•
insoles/orthoses,

AFOs/splint
•
Padding or taping
•
Rehabilitation exercises/physio/functional
workouts
•
Injection therapy, surgery
•
Footwear advice
•
Investigations eg: x-ray, ultrasound, blood
sample
•
Onward referral to other medical disciplines
